How can I not be mesmerized by her glow? This lovely celestial body has guided my path throughout my lifetime, and even as a child, somehow I always knew of her rhythms that internalized within my body. I consider myself lucky to be among the moonstruck souls who knows of her mysteries. To those who think us made, I just smile. Our celebration of life and freedom of spirit is what sets us apart and we are better for it.
The moon and other celestial bodies have been used for tens of thousands of years to determine the saesons, months, and years. Activities done by our ancestors, whether work, celebration, or rest, were in harmony with the flow of the rhythms of nature, the rising and setting of the sun and moon and the phases she passed through every cycle.
The moon is the largest and brightest object in the night sky and radiates an air of mystery that has long inspired wonder and curiosity. Lady Luna does not present us with the same face every day, but waxes and wanes in an endless cycle that reflects the constant alternation of birth, life and rebirth every twenty-nine and a half days.

New Moon
Low on the horizon she sits, that first sliver of light is sometimes called the crescent moon. Work with new moon energy in magick for new beginnings, creating positive change, inner harmony, growth and potential, peace, cleansing rituals, and designing sacred space.

Waxing Moon
The moon grows and gains strength as rises along the skyline.
Work magick for money, commuication, pregnancy, new jobs, leagal matter and healing.
Goddess association: Aphrodite and Freya
Full Moon
She is lovely full of face and illuminating all she touches. Work with full moon energy for psychic abilities, spiritual development, personal growth, celebration, intuition, and renewal.
Goddess association: Selene and Luna
Waning Moon
As she journeys back to her original position, she begins to decrease. Work with the waning moon for release, letting go, and breaking bad habits.
Goddess association: Cerridwen and the Morrigan
Dark Moon
With her face in shadow, we can contemplate. Some practitioners choose not to work magick during the dark moon. But if you do, use this phase for self-knowledge, shdow work, divination, banishing, protection, and insight.

Moon water is great for giving a little eextra enchantment to your magickal herbs, spell crafting or cleansing and charging your magickal tools, stones etc.
You will need:
Large bowl
Rainwater (tap water is fine)
Moonstones or quartz crystals (optional)
On the night of the full moon, place your bowl of water outside (you may add moonstones or quartz crystals if you'd like). Make sure you can see the moon's reflection in the water. Place your hands over it and say:
Mother Moon, your light does shine
Charge this water with energy divine
With the power of three times three
As I wish it, so mote it be
Let the water charge for at least an hour, or leave overnight.
