We live in a narrow river valley in the eastern reaches of Skagit County in Washington state. We are an ecclectic lot who nestled our homes in the shade of giant conifers under threatening skies. Moss coats the rooves of our dwellings and claims abandoned treasures. We have learned to deal with perpetually wet feet and mud that clings to the soles of our shoes. Winter is coffee and woodsmoke and the scent of pelting rain; summer is green fire and birdsong and the rush of melting glacier water- and surrounding it all are mountains.
In a cottage near the banks of a wild and scenic river, we sustainably gather the branches that will become handles for RiverWoodBrooms. You never know what you may have- a piece of alder tumbled and churned by wild water until smooth; or perhaps a cedar or fir branch with beaver gnawed ends. These one-of-a-kind besoms and brooms are produced at our very own cottage on the river. All are lovingly hand-made and no two are ever alike.
Use as a kitchen broom to sweep away the dust of the day- ritually, to sweep away negative vibes- or use in celebrations, such as handfastings. No matter how you choose to use your broom, be rest assured no one else will have a broom like yours. Hit the link below to see what brooms we have to offer today.
